Worst Possibly Scenario

It’s already one month.

I have been working at the Embassy of Republic Indonesia for a month. In the beginning I was super excited that I could get the opportunity to work here, but now, still excited, but I am feeling a lot of things.

There are things that are working not according to what you are used to; even more important, there are things that do not match with your belief, principles, or philosophies.

Is it too hard to comprehend? Is it too hard to adjust? I would say fifty-fifty. There are some things that I can understand from not-my-point-of-view. But there are things that irritate me – hence I hesitate to understand, to adjust even more.

One example about differences we have: working overtime. I was against overtime, because I really don’t want that my me-time to be disturbed; but with this big event coming up, I should sacrifice a lot of me-time.

Anyway, I am glad that I can learn a lot of things from this experience. Like what I read this morning during my quite time: Joy often is sent through pain.

Daster Batik Pagi itu Nie datang ke kantor disambut oleh kumpulan ibu-ibu yang tidak jelas dari mana dan mau apa. “Assalamualaikum” sapa Nie. “Waalaikumsalam” jawab kumpulan ibu-ibu itu serempak. Kate Walker, the main character in this film, uttered this question to Harvey Shine. In this story, both of them lived a life that is not very happy-chappy. Kate lived in a pathetic, boring life; Harvey in a screwed one. When Kate asked this question, both of them seem to ponder: what if I could live a different life, just for one day, just to try out. God's Plan for My Slippers

Look at my cute slippers! Lucu banget, kan! Slippers ini diberikan sebagai oleh-oleh, dari seorang sahabat yang pada saat itu baru pindah ke New Zealand . Kalau saya tidak salah, 4 atau 5 tahun lalu slippers ini diberikan. Saya adalah orang yang practical . Boro-boro pakai slippers di rumah, sandal jepit biasa pun tidak! Di dalam rumah, kami biasa nyeker alias tidak pernah pakai sandal. Jadi si slippers domba Selandia Baru yang baru ini resmi menjadi penunggu lemari baju.
