My ABG time

Speaking of ABG, Alay, or Ababil (ABG Labil), or the proper word is teenagers, makes me recall of my puberty. Who am I 10 years ago (or more)?

If I should define the young version of me in one sentence, I would say that I was a geek who tried so hard to fit in and be one of the popular elite but got crashed in the midst of the journey of finding the true identity and since then became sort of a downer.

Thank God, I can now happily see myself as a geek and be proud of it. I am happy with my own fashion, my point of view, my opinion, and my belief.

And I am sooo glad that my little sister did not try to fit in. My mom and I have always been encouraging her that it is okay to be different. Because back then, my mom might be still immature about how to handle her new teenager. So, she didn't realise that my failed attempt to fit in had a big impact to my puberty and my early 20s.

So, enough about who I was. Let me tell you how I was by sharing my music, movie, or other interests.

1. Catchy song yet improper girl/boy band

Like the song, hate the group (they were just the karaoke girls

Loveee the group members (esp. Teuku Ryan), love the song

2. Imitating the girl/boy band

These are two of the many songs that I knew the dance by heart :P *embarrassed*

3. Swapping diary book (thus other people could fill it in. And it was very important to give it to your favorite boy at school. I never had the guts to give it to my favorite boy. But my friends did it once for me :P) *double embarrassed*

4. I hated girly stuff. I only would wear trousers, not-so-tight t-shirt/shirt, and jeans. Never wore any make-up but a bit of mosturizing cream (I had to because of my dry skin) and lip therapy (because of my overly dry lips).

5. I heart Michael Owen. He was my first, imaginary, love :P

6. The first concert I went to was the one of One Way Band - yes, indeed, the drummer that I had mentioned before in this blog, played (and is still playing) in this band.

7. I had always wanted to smoke, but never dared.

8. I had ever committed suicide, but it failed - THANK GOD! (I told ya I was a downer)

9. Some soap operas I loved were Shangrilla, Abad 21, Noktah Merah Perkawinan, dan Doaku Harapanku.

10. My grandma and I loved watching Spanish soap opearas together. We loved Casandra, Maria Mercedes (and some other soap with Thalia in), and Carousel.

11. I "dated" for the first time when I was like 13 years old? It lasted for 2 months :P

12. The movie that I loved, and still do now, was 10 Things I Hate About You. First, it was because of the poem in the end; second, it was because of Heath Ledger.

13. Called my favorite radio station (it was EBS FM or Istara FM) and requested songs, shared stories (alias curhat), or joined some quizzes (which I had never won) :P

14. Finally, the big fun is my current fiancee was back then my biggest enemy :P I even have sworn that I would never say Hi to him. Look what is happening to me now! :D

Any similarities with your memories being a teenager?

What would you do if you could live another life

What would you do if you could live another life just for one day? This line is quoted from "Last Chance Harvey" . I have watched this film twice and still feel so touched everytime I watch it. Kate Walker, the main character in this film, uttered this question to Harvey Shine. In this story, both of them lived a life that is not very happy-chappy. Kate lived in a pathetic, boring life; Harvey in a screwed one. When Kate asked this question, both of them seem to ponder: what if I could live a different life, just for one day, just to try out. This question makes me ponder, too: what would I do if I was given a chance to live any kind of life I want, just for one day? Where would I be? What would I do? Who would I be? Lately I have been thinking about the life I am living right now. Everything is so well-planned. I graduated from high school, went abroad to study, came back home to work, went abroad again to do my master, working in a reasonably good organisation, and going ho

Cold Feet

One of my closest friends is getting married tomorrow another one in May another one in November. and an ex-classmate is also getting married in April/May. and, I dreamed about getting married last night. I remember some months ago I was so enthusiastic with the idea of getting married. Although I knew that our relationship was not yet ready for that stage, I was so pushy to Stefy. I had asked him when exactly we would get married. Ah well, it was all the flashy things that I longed for. Right now, what I want is to avoid it! I am just not brave enough to throw myself into this new status. Don't get me wrong, I am probably just like any other girls out there who like the beautiful wedding gown, like to be made up, like to be the queen of the night. But, have you ever considered what would happen after you wave off the guests and head to your own home, starting your new chapter of life? or what would happen after the happy chappy honeymoon? Would we then live

WSAD? (What Should Ariel Do?)

As a communication expert, we always need to be prepared for crisis communication or disaster management. If a company suffered a bad publication, or when bad things happened, like with BP’s oil spill or Toyota’s cars, the communication people need to work very hard to communicate the right message (while some other people work on to make things right) and to win the public favour again. In theory, companies need to be prepared for crisis way in advance; however not many companies did that. I believe, Ariel had also never thought that such drama would happen, but yeah, here it is, and he has to face it! So, here is my humble opinion regarding what he needs to do to clear the air: Scenario 1: Launch a single/album Celebrities, especially musicians, usually would create a drama or scandal to increase their popularity in order to promote the next movie, single, or album that would be launched. What Ariel could do is to write a song (or an album) as soon as possible and launch it! And thee
